Auto Zürich 2025 created astonishment and euphoria with its premieres

The five-day Auto Zürich may be over for this year, but its standout moments will likely continue to resonate with car enthusiasts for a long time. Seventy car brands – including hypercars such as Koenigsegg and the Aston Martin Valkyrie – kept nearly 70,000 visitors constantly in motion and likely raised more than a few heart rates, as did the 80 product premieres. The new MTM Pangaea in particular struck the tuning community like lightning. Another novelty also thrilled the audience: for the first time, Broad Arrow Auctions, in cooperation with Auto Zürich, auctioned extremely rare lots at the Grandhotel Dolder. streetwheelz1 looks back at the best moments of Auto Zürich 2025.

How does one best navigate a large auto show? Simply walking from Hall 1 to Hall 7? Or heading straight for the main attraction? This likely varies depending on interests and brand preferences. Many visitors went directly to the two well-known Ferrari hotspots: Kessel AG (several classics and the new Ferrari Amalfi) and Niki Hasler AG (including a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Scaglietti).

The diversity of exhibitors was broad: manufacturers, tuners, classic specialists, importers, and various other companies presented their products and services. One could say that Auto Zürich does not make it easy to choose a focus – which is exactly why, alongside the day ticket, there is also a Multi-day pass. Across seven exhibition halls on multiple levels, 70 brands and even more models were displayed. From off-roaders and SUVs to electric vehicles and family cars for everyday use, all the way to tuning builds and hypercar racing machinery – there was something for every taste. Many of the new vehicles were marked “Swiss Premiere.” These product launches are ultimately the heart of an auto show. They show that this is a living exhibition with a fresh breeze, not a museum.

This became especially clear with one premiere that went viral on social media almost instantly. It felt like lightning and thunder at the same moment. Boom. Something extraordinary had appeared. In a dark, almost black metallic green, this stunning carbon creation stood on a low podium, surrounded by onlookers. Work on the prototype had previously been kept strictly confidential. But saying that the MTM Pangaea GT surprised everyone would be an understatement. It hit hard. It was desired. It became the conversation topic – on the show floor and on TikTok. “Where was this?”, “UFO”, “Monster” appeared in the comments under the streetwheelz1 video.

MTM stands for “Motoren, Technik, Mayer.” The tuning workshop, which also has a location in the canton of Graubünden, is focused entirely on performance enhancement, achieved through chip tuning, superchargers, and lowered suspensions among other methods. Even already impressive brands such as Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini, KTM, Spyker, and Porsche can be elevated even further in this almost magical way. Examples could be seen in Hall 7, where MTM had taken a bright yellow Huracán Tecnica to 1,230 hp. A boy of about three pointed and said, “Look, Papa, a Lamborghini!” Even the youngest know what’s good. But the MTM Pangaea GT goes another step further. Or several. The original Audi RS6 was transformed through masterful tuning into a distinct MTM model with its own full carbon body. They really went all in here. Wider, longer, stronger. Everything was so radically optimized for performance that the car feels made for a racetrack. Yet in theory, one could still drive it to the supermarket, since it is street-legal. Interest was high. Many asked about the price. But this is a true collector’s item. The tuning monster is strictly limited to 25 units. The undisclosed price is likely just as brutal as the car itself.

Those who wanted to take something highly exclusive home from Auto Zürich 2025 had the opportunity to do so at the Broad Arrow Auctions sale. The internationally active auction house, known for selling high-value collector cars, entered into cooperation with Auto Zürich for the first time this year. Visitors were able to preview the auction models at the Grandhotel Dolder. Among them were several vehicles estimated at over one million Swiss francs. The most expensive was an extremely rare 1956 Jaguar D-Type. Also on display during the preview were a 2024 Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider, a 1983 Maserati Khamsin, and a 1966 Ferrari 274 GTB Alloy. Particularly eye-catching was a lavender-colored 1993 Lamborghini Diablo Evolution GTR and one of only 15 2010 Lamborghini Reventòn Roadsters. The private auction took place on Saturday afternoon. A separate Top Story with more details and impressions will follow soon.

SIC-Carage, meanwhile, showcased several Singer Porsche models and an Aston Valkyrie, once again placing a strong focus on Koenigsegg. The Agera RS (2015–2018) set a world speed record of 447 km/h in the Nevada desert in 2017. The prototype CC850 (2022–2024) reaches 1,385 hp with E-85 fuel, but its unique feature is the hybrid ESS transmission, which enables both manual and automatic shifting. The Jesko Absolut (since 2023) achieved 531 km/h in the wind tunnel and is still considered a potential fastest road car. Known for its aggressive shape and carbon aesthetic, it recently gained renewed visibility thanks to a surprising accessory: in February, it was spotted driving through St. Moritz with a bright orange ski box.
