Pitwalk & Carspotting – Autobau Erlebniswelt (Switzerland)

The “Pitwalk & Carspotting” events at Autobau Erlebniswelt in Romanshorn offer visitors a rare opportunity to experience exceptional cars not only in a museum setting, but also in motion. Autobau is one of Switzerland’s most remarkable automotive collections, featuring around 120 rare vehicles ranging from historic racing cars and Formula 1 machines to modern supercars and legendary classics.

During these special open-museum days, selected vehicles from the collection are taken out of the exhibition halls and placed or driven on the outdoor circuit area of the venue. This allows photographers, filmmakers, and car enthusiasts to capture unique perspectives of the cars in natural light and in real driving situations.

The format is particularly popular among automotive photographers and video creators because the cars are positioned and moved several times to create ideal shooting conditions. Visitors can photograph exterior details, interiors, and mechanical components, and also experience the sound of the engines when the vehicles are driven.
