Honda Fan Meet: Where Engines Roar and Car Fans Marvel

On September 28, 2024, a Honda Car Meet took place near Zurich, Switzerland. Despite the heavy rain, both the cars and their fans remained resilient. In cold, wet conditions, several hundred Honda owners gathered in Kemptthal to showcase their vehicles to a large audience, coming together to celebrate the anniversary of the Japanese car brand. The location is well known. If you’re a car enthusiast, you’ve probably made your way to Kemptthal before, an industrial area and village about half an hour from Zurich. Kemptthal even has its own dedicated train station. Located in the so-called “Valley” is the Swiss site of Motorworld, a regular host of popular car events. This time, it was all about the Japanese brand Honda and the 50th anniversary of Honda Switzerland.

A key question often asked by car enthusiasts: Do you prefer sporty or practical? Opinions may differ, but the event catered to both preferences. The younger NSX models (2016-2020) dazzled with their hybrid engines and impressive acceleration, while the older models (1990-2005) charmed with their classic, sporty lines.

Also impossible to miss was a Honda Accord covered in sponsor logos, reminiscent of the legendary British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) of the 1990s. These highly successful race cars were equipped with 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engines and tuned to 300 horsepower. Another eye-catcher was a bright yellow Integra. However, the event wasn’t just for high-performance cars—practical vehicles like various Civic models, CR-V SUVs, and Honda Jazz cars were also on display. Classic car fans were also rewarded: along with a not-so-old Honda City Turbo, there were models from the S-600 series (1960s) and the S-800 series (1970s). The first prize in the Classic Car category went to a Honda Accord.
